He was predeceased by: his wife Nellie; his parents, Harry and Thora; his siblings, Bill (Helen) and Ruthie; his grandsons, Zachary and Justin; and his niece Sandy.

He is survived by: his son R. Scott Blackburn (Kathy); his grandchildren, Jen (Jordan), Becky (Bradley), Seanna and Michael; his great grandchildren, Brooklynn, Brynlee, Jackson, Kendra and Penelope; his brother Jim (Judy); his brother-in-law Roy (Judy); his niece Linda; and his caregiver Denise.
