We are sad to announce that on August 7, 2021, at the age of 87, Eileen Barnes Sponsel of Spencerville, Ohio, born in Buckland, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John D. Richardson and Sylvia H. Bowers Richardson; her former husband Neal M. Barnes; and her husband Rev. Walter E. Sponsel. She is survived by: her sons, Steven M. Barnes (Jane) of Celina and Timothy N. Barnes (Jennifer) of St. Marys; her grandchildren, Heather Davis (Jeff) of Lima, Stacey Barnes of Lima, Amanda Hensley, Kelsey Barnes of Anna, Luke Brigham (Rene) of Norfolk, VA., Seth Brigham (Abby) of St. Marys, Adam Barnes of St. Marys, Lauren Craft (Brandon) of St. Marys, Josh Barnes (Sydney) of St. Marys and Jennifer Price (Nate) of St. Marys; her sister-in-law Mary Donna Richardson of Sidney; her son William E. "Bill" Barnes; and her brother John J. Richardson. She is also survived by great grandchildren.
With Covid-19 still being with us, the family requests that those who can to wear masks and try to social distance, with visitation from 4 until 8 PM Tuesday and after 9:30 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
