She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbur Louis and Meredith Joan Kent Merricle; her former spouse Armin "Rife" Jewett; her son Wesley Smart; her son-in-law Rodney Hardeman; and her siblings, Harley Merricle and Jacqueline Case.
She is survived by: her husband Donald Smart; her children, Patty Clark (Marshall) of Wapakoneta, Judy Ringwald (Lance) of Spencerville, Lori Jewett of Spencerville, Julia "Lynn" Jewett of Levenworth, WA., Lisa Hardeman (Mitch) of Spencerville, Amy West of Sidney, Barb Howerton (Rick) of Jackson Center, Mike Young of Jackson Center, Jeff Young of Jackson Center and David Bradford (Tonya) of Lima; her brothers, Steve Merricle (Pam) of Warren, MI., John Merricle (Sherry) of Lima, Edmund Merricle (JoAnn) of Delphos and Rick Calvelage (Jan) of Fort Jennings; her daughter-in-law Kim Smart Woodruff of Paulding; and her siblings-in-law, Ginny Merricle of Delphos and Douglas Case of Lima. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
With Covid-19 regulations of a face mask and social distancing, the family will receive friends from 2 to 8 pm on Wednesday, with funeral services at 8 pm in the funeral home.
