He was predeceased by: his wife Belma Slack (Triggs); his children, James "Jim" Slack, Jr. and Lorena Jean "Jeannie" Slack; and his brothers, Gerald Hanes and Arva Slack.
He is survived by: his parents, Oscar Slack and Ola Slack (Hanes); his grandchildren, John Slack and Shellie Rae Scott; and his brother Pearl Slack of Zanesville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations in Red's name may be made to SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth.
