He was predeceased by: his parents, Alva Bowman and Margaret Bowman (Arthur); his wife Reba Bowman (Backus); his daughters, Julie Hall and Tammy Maynard; his siblings, Edna Snell, Linda Rosenbaun, Tom Bowman, Jerry Bowman and Richard Bowman; and his granddaughter Sonja Rae Miller.
He is survived by: his children, Phillip Bowman Jr. (Sheila) of Coal Grove, Donald Bowman of South Point, Ohio and Carla Miller of Ironton; and his sisters, Betty Bartram of Ironton and Bonnie Hill of Urbana. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren.
