He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Merrill and Bernice Merrill (Thomas); his wife Christine Merrill (Russell); and his daughter Frances Wood. He is survived by: his children, Joseph Merrill, Jr. (Kellie) of South Point, Clyde Merrill of South Point, Angela Miranda (Michael) of South Point and Mary Lawson (Gary) of New York. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
