He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay McDowell and Anna Merle Carter McDowell; and his siblings, Barbara Gibson, Donald McDowell and Larry McDowell.
He is survived by: his sister Juanita Heiner of Barboursville, WV. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews.
