He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Riggs, Sr. and Thelma Reed Riggs; his wife Bonnie Short Riggs; his stepmother Mary Riggs; and his siblings, Maxine Burcham, Fern Johnson and Lloyd Riggs.
He is survived by: his daughter Melissa Riggs; his grandchildren, Veronica Riggs and Shawn Riggs of Kitts Hill; his brother Cecil Riggs (Barbara) of South Point, Ohio; his half-brother Paul (Jennifer McCarthy); and his close friend Regina Webb. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
