He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Everett and Clara Belle Abbott Sword; his sons, Scott and Douglas Hester; his siblings, Art, Raymond Epling, Anna Lee Burns, Gene Fizer, Janice Carter and Kathleen Waller; and his grandchildren, Ava Hackworth and Robbie Beddow.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Spurlock Sword; and his children, Michael Sword (Angela) of Columbus, Kenneth Sword (Debbie) of Millersport, Clifford Jr. Workman (Tammy) of Catlettsburg, KY, Debbie Perdue (late Chuck Sergent) of Huntington, WV, Sheila (late Shawn Rubin) of Marmet, WV, Tresa Thayer of Marmet, WV, Clara Cremeans (Randy) of Barboursville, WV, Charlotte Webb (Todd) of Kenova, WV, Crystal Williamson (Hark) of Catlettsburg, KY and Ashley Sword of South Point, Ohio. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
