He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Barbara J. Murphy; his children, Randolph J. Murphy, Jr. (Deatra) and Sian Murphy (Darrell); his brother Horace Cummings; his mothers, Laura White and Georgia; his siblings, Maudine and Robert; his son Randy Jr. (Deatra); his grandchildren, Antonio, Antoinette (Richard), Amaretto, Ryan Ameer and Ramir; and his great grandchildren, London and Richard IV. He was also cherished by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
