He was predeceased by: his son John Liptak; and his parents, Daniel Marie and Eleanor Marie. He is survived by: his wife Susan; his daughter Alicia Schaefer (Christopher); his grandchildren, Kylie and Lilliana; and his siblings, Ken, Kathy Shaw (Michael), Robert, Paul (Deborah) and Timothy (Tracy).

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Dan to Cleveland Clinic Hospice.
