He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry Thornton and Hettie Elizabeth Wayne; and his wife Ruth Wayne (Catchapaw). He is survived by: his children, Winston "Buddy" Earl Wayne Jr. (Lisa), William "Bill" Harley Wayne (Carol), Timothy Earl Wayne (Teresa), Elizabeth Ann Jones and Susan Wayne; and his adoptive daughter Dawn Newman. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson as well as a close family friend.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Ingling Williams & Lewis Funeral Home (24 N Chillicothe St, South Charleston, OH 45368). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
