He was predeceased by: his parents, Oria "Curly" Cassell and Betty Cassell (Spitzer); his brother Bruce Cassell; his father-in-law Homer Pyles; and his sister-in-law Carolyn Roark (Dick).
He is survived by: his wife Shirley A. Cassell (Pyles); his children, Rob Cassell (Kerry), Natalie Smith (Zeke) and Amanda Cassell-Jenkins (Johnny); his siblings, Dale Cassell (Eva), Kelley Maggard (Randy) and Karla Cassell (Joe); his grandchildren, Nicholas, Noah Cassell, Cole, Chase Erskine, Chloe Smith, Isaac and Brielle Jenkins; his mother-in-law Ethel Pyles; and his siblings-in-law, Ralph Pyles (Robin), Vivian Coleman (Charles), Mary K. Pyles and James Pyles (Angie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
