She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmitt Thompson and Edna Thompson (Jividen); her husband Melvin Carpenter; and her siblings, Mack Thompson, Georgene Kemerer and Carol Sue Staten.
She is survived by: her daughters, Julia Sharp (David) and Karen McClaskey (Terry); her grandchildren, Kellie Delong (Bob), Mandy Tallerico (Tony), Clayton Sharp, Sarah Shaw, Nicholas Covell (Mariah) and Kimberly Holbrook (Eric); and her siblings, Arthur, Bill Thompson and Libby Enicso. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
