He was predeceased by: his parents, William Heffner and Mary Jane Carl (Baker); his wife Jacqueline "Jackie" M. Carl; and his daughter Gina D. Carl. He is survived by: his son William Donald Carl (Don Smith) of Pawtucket, RI; his grandson Andrew Carl; and his close friend Mary F. Houde Mann of Myrtle Beach, SC..
