He is survived by: his wife Benita "Bennie" of Amherst; his granddaughters, Katie Byrd of Florida and Alyssa Byrd of Lorain; his great grandchildren, Cecilia and Gilbert; his sisters, Mary Porter (Donald) of Florida and Virginia Mylan (Gary) of Pennsylvania; and also Amy L. Byrd (Jim Milks) of Amherst.
