He was predeceased by: his grandson Aaron Friel; his siblings, William J. Friel, Darrel R. Friel and Carolyn G. Swecker; and his parents, Oscar R. Friel and Mamie P. Friel.
He is survived by: his wife Jolene Friel; his children, Timothy Ray Friel of Melrose, FL, Tonya Jones (Jeffrey) of Green, Trisha Summers (Gregory) of Wakeman and Tami Friel of New London; and his siblings, Gary Lee Friel (Lucille) of Daleville, VA, Phyllis Ann Tumblin of Morgantown, WV and Deloris "Kay" Wise of Wheeling, WV.. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.
