He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert A. Brooks and Anna Brooks (Wiggins); his daughter Heather Nulph; his granddaughter Sienna Nulph; his stepdaughter Karen Rider; and his siblings, Betty, Lydia, Florence, Pearl, George and Roy.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Brooks; his sons, Garry Brooks Jr. (Loretta), Dustin Brooks and Steve Ferris (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Dylan, Haley Nulph, Bailey, Jagger, Jayden, Kaitlyn, Jonathan Brooks, Charles Anthony, Dora Amburgey, Sky MacKenzie, Sage Madison, Steven III, Summer Shyanne Ferris, Andrea Farthing and Brianna Ditmer; and his brothers, Bill Brooks (Linda) and Marvin Brooks (Bonnie).
Visitation was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Somerville Community Church (207 Walnut St, Somerville, OH 45064). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 at the Somerville Cemetery (207 Walnut St, Somerville, OH 45064).
