He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernis Newton and Stella Newton (McKinney); his wife Leona Carol Bennett; and his brothers, Carl Newton and Cleven Newton.
He is survived by: his children, John Newton, Cheryl Collins (James), Darrell Newton (Kristen), Cathy Spradling, Chester Mays and Greg Newton (Jessie); and his sister Mafrey Gault. He is also survived by his several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
