He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Nickell and Goldie Nickell (Wilson); his wife Othetta Nickell; his daughter Kathy Doyle; his granddaughter Leah Nickell; and his siblings, Don Nickell and Virginia Lawson.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeff Nickell (Carla) and Randy Nickell (Lola); and his grandchildren, Angela Jones, Heather Wegman, Tracey Kaluga, Bruce Nickell, Tosha Cunningham and Zacharee Nickell. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
