He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter David Sr. and Helen G. Mahan (Watkins); and his daughter Wanda Cornett. He is survived by: his wife Helen L. Mahan (Emmert); his children, Diana Waugh (Chuck) of Massachusetts and Albert Mahan of Somerset; and his son-in-law Kent Cornett of Zanesville. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
