He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Shumaker and Kathryn Shumaker (Cummings); and his siblings, Sonny, Betty, Nell and Charlotte.

He is survived by: his wife Janet Shumaker; his sons, Jason (Jen) and Justin Shumaker; his grandchildren, Brayden and Chloe Shumaker; and his close friend Bella. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Somerset American Legion or to FairHope Hospice and Palliative Care.
