He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Edward and Maybelle Smith (Livingston); his son Ernest Smith Jr.; his sister Lenora Rychlak; and his brothers-in-law, Charlie Prince and Joseph Rychlak.
He is survived by: his wife Ina Joyce Smith; his children, Danette Smith of Columbus, Bob Cordray (Jenny) of Stockport, Kimberly Wells of Somerset and Jerry Cordray (Barb) of Thornville; and his siblings, Ed Smith (Debbie) of Pataskala and Grace Prince of Springfield. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
