He was predeceased by: his siblings, Sylvia Scheer, Essye Licker, Edward Martel and Oscar Marcus. He is survived by: his wife Lillian Kaufman; his children, Laurie Hyer (Jeff) of Sheffield Village, OH and Jeff Martel (Judy) of Maplewood, NJ.; his grandchildren, Rachel, Erin and Joseph Martel; and his nephew Richard Martel (Lori).

In lieu of flowers contributions in Sidney's memory may be made to the charity of choice.
