He was predeceased by: his parents, Vito Gentile and Rita Ristaneo Gentile; and his grandson Rick Calderon. He is survived by: his wife Rita; his sons, Mark Gentile (Diana) of Shorewood, IL and Jeff Gentile of Bellbrook, OH.; his sister Donna Scheu (George) of Centerville, OH.; his grandchildren, Corina, Keira and Robert; and his brother Novitiate.

Out of respect for family and friends, due to Covid-19, a private Memorial Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of which Sam was a member.
