He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Haun and Mabel Haun; his wife Melinda Weyls Haun; and his children, Dr. Tim Haun, David (Smith), Wendy Lane Smith Maganas, Shari Galliano Haun and Jonathan Daniel "Bzur" Haun. He was also cherished by six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
