She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Potter and Mae Partington Potter (Carroll); her spouse Dean Root; her granddaughter Rachel Stewart Kinninger; her great grandchild Henry Hassink; and her siblings, William Partington and Dorothy Francis.
She is survived by: her daughters, Verna Bulle (Clifford) of Pataskala, Carol Jones (Lonnie) of Anna and Jackie Stewart (Greg) of North Carolina; and her sister Irene Shoffner of Piqua. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
