She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Murphy and Eva Murphy (King); her husband Darryl G. Harness; and her siblings, Doug Miller, Linda Creekmore and Betty Lou Hickman.
She is survived by: her children, Chasity Harness of Sidney, Jessica Stangel (Josh) of Sidney, Johnny Harness of Sidney and Nigel Allen of Sidney; and her siblings, Henry Murphy (Betty) of Sidney, Ray Murphy of Sidney, Robert Murphy of Kentucky, Cindy Stephens of Sidney and Geraldine Yantis of Sidney. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials to honor Rita may be made to House of Refuge.
