He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Clifford and Georgia Alberta Gatewood (Bowers); the mother of his children Victoria Gatewood; his siblings, Chuck Gatewood and Nila Zeilstra; and his siblings-in-law, Giles Jones, Sidney Zeilstra and Jaye Gatewood.
He is survived by: his daughters, Virginia Alonso (Ricardo) of Westerville and Holly "Younger" Sitko (Stuart) of Rogue River, OR; his grandchildren, Steven, Patrick McClain, Alexzandra and Anthony Sitko; and his sister Sandy Jones of Fayetteville, TN..
A Gathering Celebrating Richard's Life will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 from 12 to 2 P.M at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to James Cancer Hospital in Richard's memory.
