He was predeceased by: his parent Orbison Crawford Carey; and his siblings, Carl Max Carey (Joan), Phil Carey (Gwen) and Carol Bour (Joe). He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Ann Jackson; his children, Randall O. Carey of Sidney, Robin R. Carey (Laura) of Georgia and Christopher C. Carey (Stacy) of Virginia; his grandchildren, Grace, Jack, Kelly, Charlie, Jacob, Ezra and Zizi; his nieces and nephews, Jeff, David, Lynn, Jane, Anne, Matthew, Andrew, Steven and Thomas; his great-niece Francine; and his great-nephew Josef. He is also survived by his family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Health Hospice or the Alpha Community Center in Richard's memory.
