He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Bornhorst and Rose Bornhorst (Meyer); and his siblings, Norma Bensman, Lester Bornhorst, Urban Bornhorst, Homer Bornhorst, Martha Borchers, Adella Brown and Eileen Borchers.
He is survived by: his wife Madeline Bornhorst (Bigham); his stepchildren, James (Laura Bornhorst), Michael (Elisabeth Bornhorst), Austria, Jerry (Michelle Bornhorst), Steven (Pamela Bornhorst), Kathleen (Clarence "Woody" Sturm), Joe (Bev Bornhorst), Annette (Jim Boone) and Patricia (Randy Meinking); and his siblings, Verona Poeppelman, Dorothy Combs, Paul Bornhorst and Raymond Bornhorst. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren.
