He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Shannon and Lucille Shannon (Queen); his wife Viola Stephens; his siblings, Catherine Baker, Albert Shannon, James Shannon and David Shannon; and his grandson Beau Schutte.
He is survived by: his children, Dale Schutte of Sidney, Mark Schutte (Debra) of Anna, Steve Schutte (Traci) of Columbus, Bonita Sprague (Tom) of Sidney, Robin Stammen (Doug) of Houston and Lisa Davidson (Nick) of Piqua; and his siblings, Charlene Balsinger of Dayton, Marilin Skinner of Florida, Ronald Shannon of Texas, Sharon Montgomery (Dwayne) of Columbus, Linda Reed of Indianapolis and Clarence Shannon (Judy) of Florida. He is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
