He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sylvester and Marie Sylvester (Taylor); and his sister Susan Sylvester. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Frazier; his son Shawn Burnham (Jackie) of Sidney; his grandchildren, Danielle Burnham, Hunter Murphy, John Murphy and Jace Murphy; and his brother Steve Sylvester (Marta).

Memorial contributions may be made to Sidney Baptist Church in Michael's honor.
