He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Bolden and Shirley Clemons; his brother Benjamin Bolden; his great-aunt JoAnn Walker; and his stepfather Robert Daniels.

He is survived by: his children, Jonathan Johnson (Troy), Jonathon Wells, Derrick Bolden, Amiee Beard, Kina Davis, Brittny Taborn, Na-Keitha Bolden and Demitirus Williams; his siblings, Karen Landrom (Greg), Kenny Lee (Sidney), Craig Clemons, Franklin Lee (Sidney) and Dave Bolden; and his close friend Julius. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews.
