He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Shumate (Shroyer); his children, Donna Shumate of Sidney, Ed Shumate (Pam) of Wapakoneta, Mike Watkins (Marlene) of Anna, Michelle Blanford (Mike) of Beavercreek, Travis Watkins (Jennifer) of Anna and Tara Bensman (Dan) of Sidney; his grandchildren, Brett Ceyler (Michelle), Ryan Ceyler, Carrie, Cody Bensman (Sami), Tyler Shumate (Shelby), Stewart, Lucas, Cayla Bensman, Alexandria Shumate, Jacob Hawk, Cori Bensman, Max Hawk and Bailey Watkins; his great grandchildren, Kai Scheible and Joshua "J. J."; and his sister Letha McCoy (Shumate) of South Shore, Kentucky..
