He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Rickert and Elda Rickert (Howe); his son Albert Rickert; his siblings, Jack Rickert, Robert Rickert of Sidney and Erna Jean Moore of Sidney; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Moore and Claude Roe.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Lee Rickert (Smith); his sons, Mark Rickert (Lisa) of Florida and John Rickert Jr. (Loura) of New Carlisle; his grandson Michael Rickert of Los Angeles, CA.; and his sister Eveyln Roe of Sidney.
