He was predeceased by: his parents, John Markin and Betty Markin (Wagner); his daughter Cathy Swope; and his siblings, Connie Smith and Thomas Markin.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Markin (Guy); his children, Robert, Paul Markin (Kathy) of Sidney and Rhonda Watson of Potosi; and his sisters, Sue Markin of Urbana and Barbara McAlexander of Katy. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
