He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Freytag and Ethel Freytag (Speckman); his wife Virginia M. (Meyer); his daughter Ann Marie Freytag; and his siblings, Paul Freytag, Mary Montague and Ed Freytag.
He is survived by: his children, Polly Day (Jerry) of St. Paris, Cindy Schulze (Rick) of Russia, Steve Freytag of Sidney, Gregg Freytag (Beckie) of Sidney, Peggy Montgomery (Mike) of Sidney, Maria Schulze (Bob) of Anna, Anita Freytag of Sidney, Andy Freytag (Sandi) of Sidney and Kurt Freytag (Troy Ann) of Anna; and his grandchildren, Craig Day (Jeanette), Kevin Day (Lindsey), Nikki Atterholt (Matt), Kristi Purtee (Joe), Tommy Day, Matthew Day (Jenna), Brian Schulze (Tracy), Brad Schulze (Carrie), Brent Schulze (Beth), Stacie Bettinger (Dave), Steven Schulze (Regina), Brianne Schulze, Aubrey Claunch (Jason), Amanda Montgomery-Jakhu (Naveen), Erin Montgomery, Ryan Montgomery (Anna), Danielle Bollheimer (Nate), Michael Schulze, Erica Schulze, Zach Freytag, Alex Freytag, Emma Freytag and Ethan Freytag. He is also survived by 68 great-grandchildren.
