He was predeceased by: his parents, George Kenneth Copella Sr. and Florence Copella (Wonderling); his wife Joan Copella (Maier) of Sidney; his siblings-in-law, Marilyn "Sis" Kemper and Elton Kemper; his stepfather Harold Traister Sr.; and his half-siblings, Sandy Traister and Harold Traister, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Tim Copella (Roberto), Kevin Copella (Kathy) and Beth Larger (Greg); his siblings-in-law, George Carrick (late Marie), Carolyn Miller (Ron) and Janet Born (Bob); and his grandchildren, Katie Hotze (Josh), Andrea Bartow (Evan), John Copella, Nathan Davis (Alexandria), Natalie Meyer (Alex), Dan Davis (Jessica), Andrea Gray (Bryan) and Laura Fox (Blake).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. (302 S Main Ave, Sidney, OH 45365). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Angels Catholic Church (324 S Ohio Ave, Sidney, OH 45365). A burial was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at the Graceland Cemetery's. Ohio (975 S Main Ave, Sidney, OH 45365).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to tuition funds to Lehman Catholic High School, 2400 St. Marys Ave., Sidney, OH or Holy Angels School, 120 E. Water St. Sidney, OH.
