She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hoover and Esther Hoover (Courter); her husband John L. Carey; and her granddaughter Crystal Hittle. She is survived by: her children, Archie Carey (Cindy) of Sidney, Steve Carey (Peggy) of Sidney and Candace Ritter (Justin) of Sidney; and her sister Vera Pike of Florida. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; a multitude of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
