He was also cherished by 17 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

“He was a good and kind man. A great friend for my mother during the last years of her life. She passed April 18, 2018 from lung cancer. He would visit, drive himself, there, to Fair Haven, to visit her. Valentine's Day, 2018, was the last picture I got of the 2 of them. The other was from the year before. Thank you Ed, for the smiles and friendship, drives, lunches, ice cream, etc, you gave my mom. RIP my friend.”
