He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Shaffer and Lela Shaffer (Russell); and his brother Russell "Dale" Shaffer. He is survived by: his wife Anna Abbott; his children, Donna Broughton (Larry) of Sidney, Damon "Scott" Shaffer (Mellanee) of Sidney, Darla Williamson (Gerard "Jerry") of Piqua, Deborah Wildermuth (Darren) of Sidney, Dawn Hageman (William) of Sidney and Danny Shaffer (Alicia) of Piqua; and his sister Barbara Abbott of Sidney. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren.
