He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Buchanan and Olga Buchanan (Tarter); his wife Ilene Norfleet; and his siblings, Veta Ard and Wilbur Buchanan.

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Sean Dunagan (Dannielle) of San Angelo, TX, Brooks Whitcomb (David) of Knoxville, TN and Dianna Buchanan of Biloxi, MS. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
