He was predeceased by: his parents, Art Brinkerhoff and Ruth Brinkerhoff (Stewart); his wife Evelyn L. Goettge (Leib); and his siblings, Harriet, George and William.

He is survived by: his stepdaughters, L. Sue Herman (David) of Wooster and Patti J. Evans (Shirl) of Wooster. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
