He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Scherer and Martha Scherer (Stine); his wife Mary Lou Scherer; his daughter Barb Elliott; his brothers, John and Richard Scherer; and his daughter-in-law Kathy Scherer.
He is survived by: his children, Robb Scherer of Shelby and Joe Scherer of Shelby; his grandchildren, Michael Scherer, Kevin Scherer (Megan), Jennifer Scherer (Alexander Powell) and Bobby Elliott; and his great grandchild Lucy Scherer.
In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Richland County at 3025 Park Ave. West, Mansfield, OH 44906.
