He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph M. Gwirtz and Estella T. Gwirtz (Durnwald). He is survived by: his brothers, Richard, Donald and Norman; his daughters, Sally Steward (Larry) of Columbus and Marlene Wears (Pat) of Groveport; and his granddaughters, Anne Barrett (Eli) and Amanda Steward (Kevin Dye). He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary School.
