We are sad to announce that on October 4, 2020, at the age of 87, Richard C. Carpenter (Shelby, Ohio) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his friend Carpie; his parents, Jay Carpenter and Onie Mae Carpenter (Allenbaugh); and his siblings, Weldon, Ernest, Doyle, Gerald, Robert, Carl, Viola Smith, May Thompson, Donna Jean Knofflock, Lillian Sweval, Berdella Richey, Juanita Naylor and Thelma Witgen.

He is survived by: his friend Carp; his wife Shirley J. Carpenter (Miller); his children, Brad Carpenter (Deb) of Shelby and Kimberlee Powell (Steven) of Galion; his grandchildren, Joshua Anton (Rachel), Shane Carpenter, Jessica Jackson (Allen), Jason Powell (Kate), Samuel Powell and Jonathan Powell; his great grandchildren, Jackson and Amelia Anton; and his sister Betty Miller. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to OhioHealth Hospice and left in care of the funeral home.
