He was predeceased by: his parents, L. K. Vlerah and Carol E. Van Vlerah (Baker); and his uncle Wilbur Baker. He is survived by: his wife Lana Rae Dawson; his children, Jeffrey M. Van Vlerah (Jennifer) of Ostrander, Brian L. Van Vlerah (Kristin) of Huron and Amy Gearheart of Marysville; his grandchildren, Alec, Audrey Gearheart, Derek, Dylan Van Vlerah, Ada Nichols, Bryce, Camryn Van Vlerah, Bailey, Seamus, Michael and Maggie Mae O'Malley; and his sisters, Sue Vogel (Al) of Shelby and Jill Frank (Bill) of Oldsmar, FL. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Memorial contributions may be to the Shelby American Legion or First Lutheran Church and left in care of the funeral home.
