He was predeceased by: his parents, William Staton and Opal Staton (Tackett); his children, Michelle and Ronnie Staton; his siblings, Charles Staton, Ruth Corlett and Wilma Brown; and his grandsons, Lee Edward Staton and Jayden Parker.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Staton (Risner); his daughters, Christina Goodyear of Shelby, LaVon Staton of Shelby, MaLisa Staton of Shelby, Kathy Jenkins of Texas and Brenda Walker of Utah; his grandchildren, Adrianna Goodyear, Tori Tallman (Trevor), Justin Roberts, Jared Braumberger, Mark Braumberger, Amanda Nancarrow, Ronna Staton, Pamela Staton and Laura Belle; his great grandchild Iris Mae; and his sister Barbara Jean Lykins of Shelby. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
