He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hicks and Martha Hicks (Malone); his grandparents, Burl and Beatrice Malone; and his sister Ladonna Fowler.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Hicks (Kemplin); his children, Teresa Pope (Eric) of Johnsville, Carol Keen (Tim) of Johnsville, Lisa Szymczak (Chuck) of North Robinson, James Hicks Jr. (Denise) of Bellville, Paul Hicks (Denita) of Mansfield, Tim Slone (Andi) of Shelby, Charles Slone of Lakewood, OH, Robert Stamper (Cindy) of Shelby, Myrtle Hale of Plymouth, Sheila Potts (Dennis) of Shelby, Peggy Seward (Shaughn) of Shelby and Bob Eldridge (Crystal) of Shelby; and his brothers, Bob Hicks of Shelby, Richard Hicks of Shelby and Michael Hicks (Tracy) of Plymouth. He is also survived by 32 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and close friends.
